Computer Camp
Networking with Minecraft
This camp is designed for kids ages 12 through high school. Campers will work in small teams to help each other configure their computers for networking and build a team Minecraft server.
Campers will learn how to use their computer networking skills to connect to other team servers. Campers will build team worlds and share them other teams.
Note: All minecraft server access is controlled and limited by allowing only connections within our local camp. Filtered internet access is granted to ONLY a few specific websites such as the Microsoft Minecraft website and installation instruction websites. No other internet access will be granted during the camp.
No computer needed. All computer resources will be provided during the camp.
What is networking?
During this camp we learn about computer networks. What is a network? How is my computer part of a network? How do I connect to a network? What really is WiFi? What is latency, bandwidth, network speed?
Build your own Server
We learn how to install and configure our own private Minecraft server. Build worlds with the other players in the camp on your own server and the server of others.
Connect!!
We learn how to configure our computer to connect to our local Minecraft server and how to safely connect with other players in our private network.
